The Metaquizziks Open Quiz for Unseeded Quartets was held on Saturday at Daly Hall. 34 teams took part.

The quiz was won by Who's Your Daddy (Siddharth Chauhan, Geek, PP and Jena, all National Law School). Insert Cool Name Here (Jaidev, Anil Raghavan, Bhargav and Satyajit) finished second while KD (Rajath and team) finished third.

Other qualifiers included Corroded Shrubs (Mihir Jayaraman, Siddhartha Vaidyanathan, Leslie and Nitish Khadiya), The Team That Shall Not be Named (Debashree, Dibyo, Sairam and Ramkey), Quizfans (Cheriyan Alexander, Vivek N.D, Lingaraj and Vivek Cheriyan), Chandrashekhar is the Limit ( Siddharth Shankar and team) and Yaake ( Saiganesh, Santosh, Aditya and Siddharth Sen).

Some of the questions:

1. Terms meaning high, a curl of hair, a pile, rain and layers/ed are used both singly and in combination with each other while studying which phenomenon?
2. A name borrowed from a character in Greek myth is used while denoting the sexual individuals--as opposed to the asexual polyps-- of species in the class Hydrozoa. Whose name?
   
3. They were intended as companion pieces. Of the subjects, one blind to life thinks everything can be measured using calipers while the other becomes a beast and eats grass. Identify painter and paintings.
4. Inspector Clouseau is a 1968 United Artists feature film, the third in the popular Pink Panther movie series. It was directed by Bud Yorkin, written by Frank Waldman and Tom Waldman and starred X, who replaced Peter Sellers. Sellers had declined to return for the lead role of Inspector Jacques Clouseau.
